The evolution of electric mobility goes far beyond building electric vehicles.
To deliver a complete driver experience, automakers must create digital ecosystems that connect mobile applications, charging infrastructure, payment services, and connected features into a seamless journey.
To support this challenge, Leapmotor, the new electric vehicle brand from the Stellantis Group, partnered with Zallpy as it prepared to enter the Brazilian market.
Integrating Leapmotor into the Stellantis Digital Ecosystem
For its launch in Brazil, Leapmotor needed to become fully integrated with the Stellantis digital ecosystem.
The project required the development of a customized interface within the Leap+ app, part of the CART platform, Stellantis’ commerce and mobility solution that connects digital services across multiple brands.
The objective was to transform the vehicle into a digital extension of the driver by delivering a connected, secure, and intuitive mobility experience. To achieve this, the project required the development of an electric vehicle charging module capable of simplifying the entire customer journey, from locating charging stations to monitoring charging sessions and completing payments.
How Zallpy Developed the Leap+ EV Charging Module
Zallpy was responsible for developing the electric charging module for the Leap+ application, adapting the solution to Stellantis’ shared architecture while collaborating with strategic innovation partners.
One of these partners was a startup identified through Zallpy’s active presence within the Cubo Itaú innovation ecosystem, a connection that helped accelerate the development of the solution.
The project covered several key areas.
Personalized In-App Experience
The charging section was fully customized within the Leap+ app, with its own visual identity, an optimized user experience, and seamless integration into the Leapmotor ecosystem.
Intelligent Charging Station Search
The solution was integrated with the charging infrastructure provider’s platform, allowing drivers to locate available charging stations with real-time information about connector types, charging standards, and station availability.
Charging Session Management
The module enables users to monitor charging sessions by displaying energy consumption, charging costs, and session duration.
Integrated Payments
The solution also includes payment gateway integrations, allowing users to pay directly for charging sessions at supported stations.
Architecture Designed for Future Growth
The solution was developed natively for both iOS and Android, supported by a Java backend and a microservices-based architecture. This approach ensured compatibility with Stellantis’ technology standards while providing the flexibility to evolve as new business needs emerge.
Project Results
The first version of the charging module was successfully delivered and entered the validation phase for use during the official launch of Leapmotor in Brazil.
Key outcomes include:
- Delivery of the first production-ready version of the charging module for validation and launch activities.
- Successful integration with the Stellantis digital ecosystem and its technology partners.
- A scalable solution designed to support additional brands and vehicle models across the Stellantis portfolio.
Software Engineering for Connected Mobility
Connected mobility projects require much more than software development. They depend on the seamless integration of platforms, infrastructure, technology partners, and user experience.
In this project, Zallpy combined business understanding, cross-company collaboration, and software engineering expertise to transform one of Leapmotor’s strategic priorities into a solution ready for real-world automotive operations.
This is how we help organizations turn technology priorities into measurable business outcomes.
